I am going to review one of the most coveted launch of its time i.e Lakme Face Sheer.Lakme Face Sheer was launched By Lakme almost couple of years back with pomp and was marketed as a Highlighter !!

I got totally smitten by the loose pigment texture  and packaging at that point of time. I was not able to use it much and Kept toying with packaging like a little girl .Over an year, I have mastered with the product & Finally Today I am here with a Review,Swatch,Photos on

Lakme Face Sheer Desert Rose Review

1.PACKAGING:Lakme Face Sheer Desert Rose is packaged in Small,Round tub with a mirror top encased in Rose Gold  Lid.On Opening up the lid, There is a sponge applicator studded in another Gold rim. Twisting this Rim will Open/Close the Packaging.

How Packaging Operates?

Beneath the sponge are Four,Small Holes which release the pigment or seal the packaging depending on which direction you have rotated the Rim. Once You rotate the Rim to open the packaging, Gently tap the packaging holding it upside down to soak the sponge with loose pigments. Soon the Pigment Laden Sponge is ready for use.

Honestly, I laughed with myself when I wrote that I bought the product for Packaging( In Beginning But It’s true). Its mechanics look interesting in First Glance but on using I found out that Packaging is most Cumbersome for this product.

On Very Second Day of use, The sponge applicator Came out. Till then I was using sponge to dab and blend the product on my cheeks. Sponge is not very hygienic as It will accumulate Dust and Bacteria over time.

Once sponge was gone, Despite Twisting the Rim Closed Packaging was not sealed completely.Everytime I Open the Main lid ,I loose some pigment despite holes being shut.

Packaging leads to lot of wastage and is not Travel safe due to spillage.

How I use it?

I gently tap the Opened Tub  while Holding it tilted to tap out some pigment in the lid itself. Once I get enough Pigment in the Lid I use My regular Blush brush to apply it.

2.SHADE:Lakme Face Sheer Desert Rose is beautiful is Vibrant Copper with understated Golden Hues. It has Fine Gold and Copper Iridescence.It can be used as Bronzer for that Goddess like Warm Glow on Face. This will look Good on Medium to Olive Skin Complexions.

3.TEXTURE:Lakme Face Sheer is a loose pigment powder in texture with Finely grounded Copper and Gold Flecks. Pigment is easily picked up by my Regular Blush Brush.It is easy to blend the Pigment .

4.FINISH:Lakme Face Sheer Desert Rose adds beautiful,Warm Glow on my cheeks. It blends effortlessly without leaving any stain on first point of contact on my Skin.

It adds Copper tinted Glow/Bronzing Effect to my cheeks.

It has beautiful iridescence which is not OTP and Sticks with tint without spreading all over. I sometime use it in Hollows of my cheeks For added Contouring effect.

It can be used as Main Lid Colour also !! But Be wary of Fall out!!

It doesn’t accentuate appearance of pores on my cheeks. It will Suit Oily skin for sure But doesn’t Dry out dry skin as such!!

5.LONGEVITY: This stays on My Combination to dry skin for Good 4-5 Hours without turning patchy. It Starts fading after sometime doesn’t disappear altogether.

Less is more with this product.

Lakme Face Sheer Desert Rose is one of the Prettiest Loose Pigment I Own as far as Texture and Finish is concerned.It has Decent staying power and Adds just Apt Tint of warmth on my NC 41 Skin Tone. Product is Versatile and can be used as Bronzer/Highlighter/Lid Colour.But I was left disgruntled by packaging.

PS:Lakme India Innovate the packaging. This Product is so Gorgeously Amazing. Little More improvisation and we will have a STAR HIGHLIGHTER!!

♥I will recommend to check this out only if you are in Dire need of Affordable(<500 INR)  Loose Pigment Powder to be used as Bronzer/Highlighter From Indian Drugstore. It will look Beautiful on Medium to Olive Skin Complexions. Only Downside of Product is Packaging!!
