I have a confession to made!! Despite all these years in Make up and Beauty vlogging and blogging , I still find myself running a Maze while choosing Right shade of foundation for myself. Seriously, Make Up Brand SA don’t want to miss a single sale option and in bid of selling , they sell anything. One of such purchase where wrong shade of foundation was matched for me was Lakme Invisible Finish Foundation. Actually I was looking for Light weight, inexpensive Make up base on top of my BB Cream/ I wanted to try Lakme 9 to 5 Foundation but settled for Lakme Invisible Finish Foundation (IFF ) . As I had used it earlier too, I quite liked it back then but always felt the shade was not right for me.

This time Lakme SA again forced a shade which is tad light for me. Actually showroom lights always make the foundation look perfect and I was so reluctant to go out and check the foundation in bright light because my little one would have gone crazy mad at me. Trusted SA !! to fail my faith in them again. I asked her in one of the recent visit to store that WHY??? Wrong shade and the answer was crisp-“Everyone wants to look Fair MAM!! This is the best shade for you!! Uuuggghh!!

Lakme Invisible Finish Foundation 01 SPF 8  is housed in thick frosted rectangular Glass bottle with metallic maroon twist off lid. In the lid attached is the spatula. Honestly I love Pump up mechanism for my foundations as they are travel safe,Spillage proof,minimize the product wastage and I can always measure the amount I need for every application. Though spatula also helps in measuring the amount required but  still in favor of Pump bottles. Packaging looks attractive but not as user friendly(No complains though for this price)

Lakme Invisible Finish Foundation 01 is light weight and has runny lotion like texture.It is available in 6 shades. Shade 01 is lighter for my NC 42 complexion. I get the best shade after mixing shade 01 and 02 tog ether.It has mild fragrance of Mineral powders. I smell the same fragrance from all my Mineral Make Up .Fragrance is not overwhelming and disappears within seconds.

On my Moisturized and Non Primed face this foundation spreads effortlessly without going patchy. Formula is creamy and is comfortable on my combination to dry Skin.It gives sheer coverage without looking cakey . On layering it on blemished areas It manages to cover up Red spots but not the brown and Dark ones. It stays on my skin without powder for up to 4 hours. It has SPF 8(Very less ). I don’t mind some SPF in my Makeup  and don’t expect my foundation to work as my sunscreen.Beside this it is water based foundation so metabolized easily by skin and will not clog pores.

Demo

I was not able to a Demo Pictures on my Face. This is hand of my 8 year old Daughter. Her skin is soft and Smooth as that of my Facial Skin. As you can see that Lakme IFF 01 has given sheer coverage ( On vein area),adds uniformity . The slight whitening finish ( in Demo Pic) is due to wrong shade of foundation.

How I use it?

For My Dry Combination skin I  make sure that my skin is deeply moisturized. I massage raindrop size of  TBS Tea Tree Pore Minimiser+ TBS Wonderblur with my hands. Then I apply very thin layer of Missha BB Cream using my TBS foundation brush. Over It I apply Lakme Invisible Finish Foundation 01 with Etude House Baby Doll Puff( damp). I get a Dewy glowy finish which looks so reflective on my complexion.To set My foundation I powder my face using Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in shade Amber which Neutralize the Light looking areas of my Face especially forehead and corner of my lips to some extent. It stays on my face for good 6 hours without fading. But despite powdering I can see residues on my phone all the time as It melts jet fast on slight raise of temperature

Lakme Invisible Finish Foundation is good affordable foundation. It is a great foundation for beginners and the shade range is designed keeping Indian Skin Tones in mind.It is light weight.Blends easily and gives sheer coverage.It  is so pocket friendly for its performance that I actually do not want to complain on packaging. Still Spatula is far better than pour to apply formulas.For the shade I will say women with NC 42 and Lighter complexions can mix shade 01 with bit yellow undertone foundation or shade 02  of Lakme IFF for more natural finish.Also being water based,It  is a good foundation for Oily Skin,works well on combination dry skin if adequately moisturized. However Dry Skin may find it bit uncomfortable to wear especially in winters
